who is tita pacita?
Tita Pacita is created by Patti Sunio, a writer at heart. She is left-handed, a middle child, and was born into this world by Cesarean section.
an etymology. (skip this part if you're filipino)
Strictly speaking, the word tita literally translates to "aunt", and is the Filipino term used to respectfully address or refer to the sister of your mother. Today, however, tita has also been used to describe an old millennial or a twentysomething whose behavior and preferences are quite beyond her years. It can be anything from a tita's having to be in bed by 9:00 p.m., or her frequent need to empty her bladder.
Pacita, meanwhile, is one of the writer's three names. It's true! If you'd like to verify this, she may allow you to look into her birth certificate, or you may simply ask any of her classmates in kindergarten or elementary if she did write Pacita on all her test papers.
Funnily enough, Pacita is rather a more common name for a lola or grandmother than for a tita, but that's life and life is such.
EARLY WRITER BEGINNINGS
She became a writer primarily because she lacked the tech skills (a clear and early sign of tita-ness) and simply relied on good old Microsoft Word for the rest of her life so far. Eventually, she would write with a newfound purpose, which is:
"...to fill the online world with beauty, truth, and a lot of LOLs, through my stories and unsolicited advice."
ON THE EXPERIENCE SHE WANTS HER READERS TO HAVE
"It's like surfing for the first time, as addictive as Piattos sour cream 'n' onion, or as high as the sun in the summer."
HER raison d'être
Contrary to popular belief, she's the type of tita who thinks chikka only brings temporary happiness, while it is intelligent discourse and intimate conversations that fill the heart.
She writes more than she speaks, and while you will come across many of her written work elsewhere on this wide, wide world called the Internet, Tita Pacita is where you'll find the heart and soul of her writing.
"Writing for me has always been curative, a form of release, and a way to connect. Having readers appreciate it is a treasure, more so when they are able to find key takeaways. It makes my heart flutter."
FOR BEST RESULTS...
Tita Pacita is best enjoyed with black coffee, Earl Grey tea latte (also known as London Fog Tea Latte), soya milk, wheat bread, or with a cute little puppy by your side.
